LANDFALL

Your whirlpool eye
A hurricane of fear
Scouring my face
Clean of its remarkable
Landmarks.

If they cannot find me
My Charlie Brown twin bed
Pulls my boy body into the tide.
Your harbor dominion
An angry clay-stirred cocktail
Dirty, frothy and potent.

The yard beyond is technicolor
Sidewalk bleached clean.
Inside the house
Plastic laughs
Before your motherly storm
Makes landfall again and again.
